The Shenzhen Dabu Chamber of Commerce held its second investment promotion conference on Feb 23, in the city of Shenzhen, with more than 300 participants, including Dabu government officials and entrepreneurial representatives.

Zhu Handong, the head of Dabu government, summarized the county’s economic achievements in 2013: The region’s total sales of consumer goods has hit 3.6 billion yuan ($587 million), the second fastest growth in the city of Meizhou, in Guangdong province; its GDP in the previous year reached 5.9 billion yuan, growing by 12.8 percent; The total export revenue is $182 million, with an increased rate of nearly 32 percent.

Zhu said that this year, the Dabu government will work on 13 energy projects, which have a total investment of 14.4 billion yuan, and adopt a set of policies and incentives to attract more large enterprises to invest in the region.

He also collected entrepreneurial representatives’ recommendations on driving local economic growth forward.
