Dabu plans to invest more in transport projects
    2013-10-29
    Updated: 2013-10-29

The county of Dabu, Guangdong province, plans to inject 21.6 billion yuan ($3.5 billion) into 13 transport infrastructure projects to expand the county’s road network and provide great convenience for its residents.

One project, the Meizhou-Dabu Highway East Line Extension, is expected to go into operation by the end of 2013. The project director said, "The line is still under construction and is moving ahead at a moderate rate."

The 23.7-kiometer project, which costs 2 billion yuan ($334 million), extends east across the towns of Sanhe, Chayang and Xihe, and connects to the Yongding Highway. Its speed limit is 100 kilometers per hour for trucks, buses and cars.

After it goes into operation, the Meizhou-Dabu Highway East Line Extension, combined with other projects, including the Fenglang-Hecun, Meizhou-Zhangzhou and Meizhou-Chaozhou highways, will give people in Dabu easy access to the rest of the province, while helping local economies and regional cooperation.
